Muddy Creek offers a variety of dog training programs including group obedience classes, private obedience lessons, and even a program specifically designed for children and their canine companions.
All programs are instructed by our resident dog trainer Katelyn Rollins. Katelyn is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, an Animal Behavior College graduate, an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, and a Professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. She also holds a degree in Veterinary Technology and has extensive experience as a dog daycare attendant and supervisor. Katelyn has the experience and knowledge to help you achieve your training goals. All training programs are designed to be an enjoyable experience and to strengthen the bond between you and your dog.

COVID-19 DOG TRAINING GUIDELINES
Muddy Creek is offering group Puppy Kindergarten and Basic Obedience (level 1) Classes which focus on socialization and obedience training. We are not offering any private training or higher-level group classes at this time. All training programs are designed to be an enjoyable experience and to strengthen the bond between you and your dog.
- Classes are held inside a climate-controlled room. Client temperatures are to be taken before entering the building.
- 6 dogs maximum per class, two people per dog.
- Class participants who are not vaccinated must wear a mask during class.
- If you are sick or have been exposed to COVID-19, you will be asked not to attend class until you have a clean bill of health from your doctor.
Training Classes
Puppy Kindergarten Class $300
6 week group class. Puppies must be between 8-19 weeks old at the time of class start. Maximum of 6 puppies per class.
This class establishes a foundation for good manners and maximizes your puppy’s socialization during critical periods of early development. The puppies will be introduced to basic obedience commands and owners will receive guidance with housetraining, nipping, chewing, and other puppy behaviors. The puppies will participate in a structured play group together at the beginning of each class! Upon graduation from this class, you and your puppy will be prepared to move on to a Basic Obedience Class.
Option 1: December 5th-January 16th, Thursdays 7:00PM-8:00PM, No Class 12/26
Option 2: January 14th-February 25th, Tuesdays 5:45PM-6:45PM, No Class 2/18
Basic Obedience Class (Level 1): $280
6 week group class. Beginner class for all pups or dogs over 20 weeks old at the time of class start. Maximum of 6 dogs per class.*
This class teaches the fundamentals of training and builds a cooperative relationship between you and your dog that will last a lifetime. Weekly homework is assigned, and time must be spent practicing techniques outside of class for your dog to be successful. Fun interactive games will be played in class to make practicing techniques fun and to build your dog’s confidence. Upon graduating this class, you and your dog will be prepared to move on to Intermediate Obedience Class.
Option 1: January 9th-February 13th. Thursdays 5:45PM-6:45PM
Option 2: January 26th-March 9th, Sundays 12:45PM-1:45PM, No Class 2/23
Intermediate Obedience Class (Level 2): $280
6 week group class. Must be a graduate of Basic Obedience Class. Maximum of 6 dogs per class.
This class builds on the foundation learned in Basic Obedience Class and increases your dog’s responsiveness to commands, even when distractions are present. Weekly homework is assigned and time must be spent practicing techniques outside of class for your dog to be successful. Fun interactive games will be played in class to make practicing techniques fun and to build your dog’s confidence. Upon graduation from this class, you and your dog will be prepared to move on to an Advanced Obedience
Option 1: December 8th-Januaury 19th, Sundays 12:45PM-1:45PM, No Class 12/29
Option 2: January 30th-March 16th, Thursdays 7:00PM-8:00PM, No Class 2/20
Advanced Obedience Class (Level 3): $280
6 week group class. Must be a graduate of Intermediate Obedience Class. Maximum of 6 dogs per class.
This class builds on the foundation learned in Intermediate Obedience Class and increases your dog’s speed of response to commands in different environments. Weekly homework is assigned, and time must be spent practicing techniques outside of class for your dog to be successful. Fun interactive games will be played in class to make practicing techniques fun and to build your dog’s confidence.
January 5th-February 9th, Sundays 11:30AM-12:30PM
AKC Canine Good Citizen Prep and Test: $175
4 week group class. Designed for dogs over 6 months. Must be a graduate of Basic Obedience Class.
The American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen (AKC CGC) certification is widely recognized for its high standard of dog behavior and is an excellent way to prepare for therapy dog training. This class prepares you and your dog to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen test as well as improve on commands already learned.
The CGC Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test will obtain a certificate from the American Kennel Club. Tests are given throughout the country by approved evaluators. This Prep and Test program is designed to prepare you and your dog for the CGC test. The first 3 weeks of this program prepare for the CGC test items and the final 4th week is when the CGC test is conducted.
January 26th-February 16th, Sundays 2:00-3:00PM
Tricks & Games Class: $260
Must be a graduate of Basic Obedience Class.
Maximum of 6 dogs per class.
Learn how to teach your dog to do tricks like wave, crawl, spin, dance, high five, and much more in this 6-week group class. Games will also be played as a group to build confidence and to make fun!
