Michaella Abugov
Veterinarian
Dr. A” was born and raised in Newburyport Massachusetts. She left the North Shore to study animal science at the University of Vermont, and went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. After graduating from Tufts, Dr. A completed an intensive rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at MSPCA Angell-Memorial in Boston. Since then, she has worked in some of the busiest emergency hospitals in the area, as well as providing veterinary services to general practices and local animal rescues. In addition to educating owners about general wellness and preventative care, Dr. A has a special interest in canine nutrition, managing food allergies, and surgery.
In her free time, Dr. A enjoys traveling, hiking, snowboarding, and snuggling on the couch with her rescue dog Liza and dumpster cat Frankie. Dr. A is also a Federal Aviation Administration licensed pilot and uses her skills as a volunteer pilot to transport homeless animals from overpopulated areas in the southern US up to the northeast where they will be adopted.
